I don't know what it is, maybe the year was going fast but now has slowed down... I have been craving a change of season. I want Christmas lights and carols, Osmond Christmas music, cookie making, monkey bread, Christmas tree all dressed up and the smell of nutmeg and cranberries by a warm toasty fire. It is a wonderful time of the year! All the things that bug me throughout the year don't bug me at Christmas time. It's as there is something in the air that changes my mood and makes me feel more giving. I have been feeling in the Christmas spirit just to continue disappointing myself that I still have 5 months until I can enjoy these favorite things of mine. Is it lame to make a paper chain to start counting down to Christmas now?
So now that has me thinking of celebrating Christmas twice this year. Anyone in for Christmas in July? I'm debating on it. Maybe just a mini Christmas?
On another note, things are coming together in our first apartment. We had a few problems with the AC when we moved in. We assumed first it was because it was summer and the AC had trouble keeping up. Next we thought, well it could be our massive windows and they are old so the heat comes in and the cool air sneaks out. We were wrong. It got to be 90 degrees inside one night. We turned it off because honestly what was the point of running something that wasn't working? My dad mentioned to us (literally that week) to wet the top sheet on our bed in water and lay it on us and it would work as a mini AC because of the precipitation. It helped and luckily the repair guy came the next day to just to tell us the previous tenant never replaced the filter. Seriously?? Who does that? More like, who doesn't change the filter? But hot air was still coming in after he cleaned all the dust and dirt out from not having a filter. He went up to the roof and found the compressor was busted. For those of you that don't know what it is, AC units have a motor and so the motor doesn't over work itself and get overheated, there is a compressor to help out. There for, the compressor going out makes your AC blow hot air and not cold. He fixed it with no problem and we have had an enjoyable apartment ever since. Cold and cozy. Let's just hope it gives us heat in the Winter.
