A letter to your parents:
Dear Oldman and Mom,
I know I've never been the best at showing how much I care for you. I really appreciate the things you have done for me these past 24 years. Mom thank you for talking to me almost everyday when I drive home from work. Thank you for being considerate and taking care of me when you knew I was too proud to ask for help. Thank you for helping me move out and buying me all my groceries and bedding. Dad thank you for all those years of girls camp. I was glad to have you get rid of the bees in our cabin or the year it rained everyday you helped me put up a tarp so my tent wouldn't leak anymore. Thank you for picking me up and dropping me off at work, cheerleading practices, summer school, night school, etc.
Thank you for not killing me and Rebecca when we put the dent in the wall in the hall. Thank you for letting me have an outside cat growing up (RIP Kitty). Thank you for all the great Christmas's and funny Christmas videos. Thank you for the Grand Am, although it broke down on me a year later. Thank you for watching Scrubs with me Dad and thank you for getting a ticket in Wyoming along with me. Mom, thank you for saving us when dad sent us to bed at 4:00pm with just a piece of bread and a hard boiled egg for dinner ha ha ha.
Thank you for the example you set in your marriage. In the world we live in today, people are always giving up on love and calling quits. But you showed me what is needed to make the best out of love. Thank you for teaching me about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Thank you for always being examples of Them in your life. Thank you for trying your best to keep me orderly. Thank you for your love and support when I was down and felt criticized by others. I am grateful you were able to raise me in a happy family. Thank you for all you do and have done for me.
Thank you for meeting in high school (and for dad not marrying Angela) and falling in love, having 6 children and saving the best for last. :)
Love,
Alison Leigh
